At Priory, we want every child to participate fully in school life and have the support they need to learn and thrive. If financial circumstances or other difficulties are affecting your child’s experience of school, please speak to us.
Pupil premium is extra government funding that schools receive to support the education of eligible children. Eligibility includes children who qualify, or have previously qualified, under the relevant benefits-based free school meals criteria, and children who are or have been in care.
The funding is paid to the school. We use it to address barriers to learning and improve children’s progress and opportunities.
We plan support around children’s needs. This may include additional teaching, learning interventions, pastoral support and help accessing trips, activities or school uniform.
Our pupil premium strategy statement below explains our priorities, how we spend the funding and the impact of our work.
Please contact the School Office if you think your child may qualify for benefits-based free school meals or would like help checking eligibility.
It is worth checking even if your child already receives a free lunch in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2. Depending on your circumstances, registering may also bring additional funding into school to support your child.
Free school meal eligibility has expanded from September 2026. Not all children entitled to a free meal attract pupil premium funding, but we can help you understand which support is available.
If your family needs help with costs or other barriers affecting your child’s participation in school, please complete the Inclusion Support Application Form below or contact the School Office for help.
The form gives you an opportunity to explain your circumstances and the support you are requesting. We will discuss your request sensitively and consider what help may be available.
You do not need to know whether your child receives pupil premium before speaking to us.
